The Grand Appeal Garden RHS Malvern Spring Festival
We were very glad to recently support the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children through donation of oak to one of our longstanding customers, I C Whittard, who created a beautiful bench for the show garden of Ammil Garden Design at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival.
Ammil Garden Design are a garden design studio with close links to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children and its official charity - The Grand Appeal. Suzy, one of their designers, started working at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in 2007, eventually becoming a consultant in intensive care in 2012. After 10 years she decided it was time to explore her passion for plants and trained in garden design. She now splits her time between her two careers, making use of her healing hands and green fingers.
The show garden at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival raised funds and publicity for The Grand Appeal, signing up new supporters and giving exposure to both a local and UK-wide audience, helping to raise their profile nationally.

We were thrilled that the garden won silver at the Festival, even featuring on Gardeners World the following Saturday! Congratulations Suzy!
Following the festival, the legacy of the show garden endured as the plants were relocated from garden back to the children's hospital site for patients, families and staff to enjoy. The trees were rehomed to a variety of locations, including some to the Children's Hospice South West Little Harbour site in Cornwall, further extending the ripple effect of generosity and goodwill.
