Transforming a home with an Oak-Framed Extension Bideford, Devon

The primary goal of the project was to increase the size of the kitchen and create additional dining and relaxation space for the homeowners. The design called for an oak-framed structure that would complement the existing architecture of the property, whilst remaining both aesthetically pleasing and functional, providing the homeowners with a bright, open space that could be enjoyed year-round.

To achieve the desired outcome, we supplied our European air-dried oak for the frame, doors, and fascia. The choice of oak was crucial in giving a rustic charm to the property while ensuring durability and longevity.

The combination of the oak frame and the extensive glazing creates a unique ambiance, where the warmth of the wood contrasts beautifully with the sleekness of the glass. The natural light that pours into the room throughout the day highlights the grain of the oak, bringing out its natural beauty and adding to the overall charm of the space.
