Featuring a beautiful contemporary oak pool building Hinton St. George, Somerset
Hinton Park Estate
by Lee RichardsHinton Park Estate house dates from the 1600’s and has recently undergone a major renovation including the addition of this beautiful contemporary Oak pool building. This is part of a diversification project to create a 13 bedroom luxury holiday complex from the farm's original buildings. The Oak pool building was framed by Oakwrights, then glazed and finished by Lee Richards of Glass & Oak using Hewins Oak Glazing Cover Boards. Other timber for the project was supplied by the estate’s very own Yarcombe Woodland Products.

Allowing for movement
Direct glazing is a method that allows for movement within the frame - a critical point for any Oak framed building, especially where glass is involved.
Timber movement is unavoidable as the timber dries out and contracts. This puts some people off, but it doesn't need to - when prepared, installed and finished correctly, Oak will remain stable and beautiful for years to come.
