Extensive yet sensitive refurbishment using fresh sawn oak beams Marshfield, Wiltshire
The Crown
by Willment & SonThe Crown has recently undergone a large refurbishment to transform the 17th century Inn into astonishing period style cottages. Willment & Son expertly designed and created the cottages using Hewins fresh sawn oak beams, TGV boarding and waney edge cladding.
The former Crown Inn has been transformed into nine stunningly created period style cottages, in the Wiltshire town of Marshfield. The property features 4 stories, including the shared cellar, which 3 of the 9 properties can access. The team at Willment & Son has done a brilliant job with the restoration, and we always love to see our oak being used. Whilst they did have have to replace some of the original materials, they were able to repurpose some of the timber such as the flooring, which is what gives these properties their character.
All in all this property was expertly made, keeping the unique and antique aspects, whilst updating and modernising at the same time.
