A unique and innovative conservation project Hope, Flinshire
Park in the Past
by Town CarpentryPark in the Past is an exciting and innovative conservation project that aims to create a totally unique heritage attraction and vital community resource. Set in a stunning ancient Welsh landscape, the park comprises 120 acres of outstanding natural beauty and includes a full-scale Roman fort and Celtic village.
With the expert assistance from the team at Town Carpentry and BWW Architects, Park in the Past made history by building the first authentic Roman fort in almost 2,000 years using natural materials - including Hewins oak - and traditional construction techniques. Although there were many challenging aspects involved in the project, the result is a truly astounding piece of work that will be enjoyed by many for years to come.
